encounter offers a contemporary setting, and environment of acceptance, and a relevant approach to church. We’ve changed the methods, but not the truth of Christ, His cross, death, and resurrection. They remain constant, the call, and the goal for every person.

discipleship
The work of Christ in our life begins at salvation. The born again experience set us on a personal journey of growth, change, and transformation into the character and image of Christ. It is every believers’ responsibility to engage with Christ personally to grow.
authenticity
One of the greatest hindrances in reaching our culture is the hypocrisy, phoniness, and plastic faces of Christianity. A new generation must emerge that worships, communicates, and serves God with authenticity.
There is no pretense, showiness, or façade – they genuinely express their weakness, dependence, and trust in God.
community
today’s culture craves community. They long for a place to relate, communicate, and be themselves. Starbucks and Barnes and Noble did not just stumble on a good idea, they knew the need and designed a place to meet that need. Community is an essential part of life in the body of Christ. It is there people honestly express themselves, their needs, and grow to be one .
relevance
another feeling by today’s society is that the church has lost all relevance. The church should be the one not lagging behind culture, but instead shaping it, directing, and influencing it. Messages, music, and environment are essential toward this end.
creativity
God has equipped His people with gifts, talents, and expressions of life that are meant to be expressed freely, passionately, and creatively. The world is waiting for more than a cookie-cutter approach to faith. encounter seeks to creatively craft experiences that allow people to interactively encounter Christ.
excellence
In today’s hi-tech world, excellence is an indicator of validity. To do something of less quality is assumed to be of less value and worth. The gospel must be presented with complete sincerity, but can also be communicated with a standard of excellence. This transcends from the visual to the invisible matters of the heart as well.
passion
God invites man to love Him with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength. The sum of these matters is addressed by the word “all.” Here is passion – unbridled, unashamed, unafraid, sold-out abandon to the heart of God.
acceptance
the message of the gospel is one of grace, in which we are accepted where we are, for who we are, by the God who knows us. This generation and culture has been burned by churches more interested in rules, laws, and judgment, than love, grace, and mercy. They will be won by a people who choose to accept more than reject, and who will choose love over legalism.
